Your Dental Hygienists

Ellen began her dental career with Dubuque Dental in 1968 as an assistant. (She must have been three years old!). She currently works as a licensed dental hygienist. Ellen has seen a lot of dentistry over the years and is very proud to be a part of the high quality of care offered to patients by Dubuque Dental.

For the past sixteen years Sherri has been a vital part of the Dubuque Dental team. She thoroughly enjoys the time she gets to spend with patients, and the care she is able to provide through her role as a licensed dental hygienist. When not in the office, Sherri can be found cheering for her children on the ice hockey rink.

With eight years under her belt at Dubuque Dental, Angela is always on the look out for something better, whether is be better dental care products or better patient information. Angela finds volunteering dental services fulfilling, and you can find her annually at IMOM (Iowa Mission of Mercy) with some of our other staff members. When you see her, ask her about Daizy dog!

A registered dental hygienist, Katie has been a part of the Dubuque Dental team for the past seven years, as our Friday part-timer. We are fortunate in that her other dental office is willing to share her, because Katie's cheer makes a Friday all that much better. Katie is currently enjoying the challenges and joys of new motherhood.

When she is not in Manchester, Heidi can be found adding spunk to the hygiene team at Dubuque Dental Associates. Heidi has brought a positive attitude to the team every day, for the past six years, as she steps into her roll as dental hygienist. When she's not caring for patients she can be found caring for her precocious pooch, Herkey and cheering on the Hawkeyes.

Jan is a registered dental assistant, and has been practicing for the last sixteen years. She has relocated to Dubuque from Ames, and has been your newest member, with us just over a year. Jan stays active outside of work with three children and a husband of 16 years. You can find her exercising, reading and playing tennis, when not educating our patients.

Your Dental Assistants

Dubuque Dental Associates has had the pleasure of having Kris for the past thirty three years as a part of the team. A registered dental assistant, Kris has held several positions within the clinic over the course of her career, the most recent position being (for lack of a better term) the Girl Friday. Kris manages inventory and supplies, assists Doctor when needed and takes care of making sure the other team members have what they need in order to serve our patients completely.

For twenty three years Deb has enjoyed working as a dental assistant for Dubuque Dental Associates. She currently assists Dr. Melanie Stuntz and is a much appreciated addition to the front office staff. When not in the office, you may catch Deb swinging a club out on the links or cruising in her new little Honda.

Lurleen has worked and grown with Dubuque Dental since 1989. She has served as a certified and registered dental assistant for Dr. Tjarks...she's been more like his right hand! When she is not at the office, Lurleen treasures spending time with her husband and two children, especially in the summer, on their boat. Running and the Arizona Cardinals also make Lurleen's list of favorites.

Jennifer finds dental assisting and caring for patients to be very satisfying. As an assistant to Dr. Kilburg, Jennifer is always up for learning the newest trends and latest technologies that dentistry has to offer. When Jen is not working across from Dr. Kilburg, she is spending quality time with her family.

Lisa has been with Dubuque Dental since 1999. She is a vital part of the front office staff, handling insurance claims and questions, as well as practicing as a certified and registered dental assistant. In her free time, Lisa enjoys riding Ragbrai (she's in training for her tenth season) and following the Hawkeyes...especially football.

Front Office Staff

Barb is known around Dubuque Dental as "Elmer". She is the glue that holds the office together. Barb has worn many hats at Dubuque Dental, but most recently has served as the Recare Manager. If you don't know Barb, it's probably a good bet that she knows you! Or your cousin...or an aunt twice removed...or...(Barb knows everyone!) You will see her smiling face in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as she is enjoying semi-retirement. She would like to thank Dr. Tjarks, Dr. Kilburg, Dr. Stuntz, Dr. Steger and Dr. Mullen for every opportunity they have offered to her.

Cam has been a part of Dubuque Dental in one way or another, since it was founded by her husband and his partners in 1969. Cam is a part-time front desk staffer, who fills in at a pinch or during those necessary staff meetings. She will always greet you warmly and ensure that your experience with Dubuque Dental is pleasant.

When not skydiving out of perfectly good airplanes, or working on her MBA, Tanya can be found at Dubuque Dental Associates, looking for ways to improve processes, evaluate budgets and enhance patient relations. Not ever imagining a career in the health care profession, Tanya was added to the office in a time of need, and can't thank her stars enough. As the newest addition to the office staff, Tanya is pleased to be a part of such a talented, wonderful group of people.
